My Story

I am a 28-year-old, stay-at-home wife, small business owner and community volunteer. I was born in West Monroe, Louisiana, moved to Grand Junction, Colorado right before kindergarden, then moved back  to West Monroe until the middle of my junior year of high school. You must be thinking “army brat,” but my father was in manufacturing and we moved wherever the company needed him. When I was 16 my family moved to Lexington, Ohio for my dad to re-enter higher education (both parents have Ph. D’s).

I graduated and went to the University of Toledo for college with a degree in Paralegal Studies. I also was heavily involved on campus and working in orientation, res life, and joined Chi Omega. After all my great undergrad experiences, I decided to apply for grad schools for a Student Affairs Program. That journey brought me to Texas A&M University (Class of ’08 Whoop!) and I started my two year program in Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAAHE). I worked as a Graduate Assistant in Greek Life while also becoming a Chi Omega advisor.

After graduating in 2008, I joined the staff at The Association of Former Students working with current student organizations on campus. This is also where I met my husband who is still the Director of IT there (very handy when you break anything involving technology). We got married in June 2010 and started trying to have a family shortly after that.

Although I am not currently working, I am volunteering in the Bryan/College Station community in a number of organizations. I have been involved with Habitat for Humanity (and hope to make that more regular), I am the VP of Community Service for the Brazos County A&M Club and the Personnel Advisor for the Xi Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega (sharing this position with a wonderful lady that I look at as my mentor…she might not know that…but she will now).
